Amaravati: Guntur West MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy today said that blood donation will give new lease of life to a person in danger. He flagged off 4K Walk at NTR Stadium in Guntur on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “The blood donation gives more satisfaction when our blood gives a new lease of life to persons in danger. Blood donation reduces risk of heart attacks and cancer.”
He added that researchers said that blood donation would have health benefits for the donor also. Blood donation removes some of its iron content. Therefore it would help thin blood if donated on a regular basis. Sri Chaitanya Education Institutions chairman Dr B S Rao urged the youth to come forward and donate blood to help the needy. Cardiothoracic surgeon A Gopala Krishna Gokhale said that every person could donate blood three to four times every year.
