Tirupati: The annual five-day teppotsavam in the famous temple of Goddess Padmavathi at Tiruchanoor off to a colourful start on Thursday evening. This festival will conclude on June 20.

These utsavams are usually celebrated at Tiruchanoor temple from Jyestha Suddha Ekadasi till Pournami for five days every year.

On the first day, Lord Sri Krishnaswamy took pleasure ride on finely decorated teppa-float in Padma Sarovaram along with Rukmini and Satyabhama.

The teppotsavam will takes place every day between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. On the first day after teppotsavam, Goddess was taken on a celestial ride on Aswa Vahanam between 8.30pm and 10.30pm.

TTD has cancelled kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Lakshmi puja in connection with this festival. Temple deputy executive officer Chinnamgari Ramana, SE A Ramulu, priests, staff and devotees took part.
