Call to practise Yoga for healthy life
Addressing the 2nd International Yoga Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds here on Tuesday, Palle said that yoga is an ancient life art which need to be practiced to overcome stress and pressures of life.
Anantapur: IT and Information Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy has stated that yoga is India's greatest gift to the world. It is India which introduced yoga to the world, while it has become popular in the world but it is being neglected in our country.
Addressing the 2nd International Yoga Day celebrations at the Police Parade Grounds here on Tuesday, Palle said that yoga is an ancient life art which need to be practiced to overcome stress and pressures of life.
In an age of computerisation, life is subjected to stress and several pressures and to experience peace, yoga has to be practiced on a daily basis. He said that one need not visit doctors to counter stress and all that one needs to do is to take to yogic exercises.
Civil Supplies Minister Paritala Sunitha said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu were promoting yoga to live a healthy life and to overcome the stress triggered by a fast life. She said that political leaders, government officials and all concerned should take to yoga to counter pressures of life. District Collector Kona Sasidhar said that government employees should practise yoga for half-an-hour at their work places before commencing their work.
He said that yoga relates to body and mind health. ZP Chairman Chaman appealed to the people to practise yoga for leading a healthy life. He said that yoga is our country's gift to the world.
Anantapur MLA Prabhakar Chowdary stated that government is supporting yoga and adopted it as a prestigious art. For a health physic and sound mental health yogic exercises are crucial, he added. SP Rajasekhar Babu stated that yoga should be part and parcel of life.
