Srisailam Project: The Krishna Pushkaralu works are going at a snail’s pace in Srisailam. Works on construction of bathing ghats at Patalaganga and Lingalagattu are still at their rudimentary stage. The Irrigation department has been implementing pushkaralu works at a cost of Rs 22 crore in the area, which is expected to receive at least 50,000 to 70,000 tourists a day.

The Srisailam temple is going to receive devotees from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra for Pushkaralu as River Krishna flows very close to the temple town.

In such a scenario, the construction of new ghats is in elementary stage while works to give face lift to the old ghats are yet to take off. The officials have set themselves a target to accomplish the works by August 1 as the pushkaralu would begin from August 12.

Even authorities are apparently skeptical about completing the works with quality by the deadline because of monsoon arrival in June and July may play the spoil sport.
