Anantapur: The JNTU staff and executive members participated in the soak pits digging programme at the JNTU campus on Thursday.
Vice-Chancellor Circar speaking on the occasion hailed the participation of the executive members in the programme. He said that soaking pits help to conserve water and recharge groundwater table.
He said drought conditions can be combated only by the digging of soak pits in the drought-prone district like Anantapur. He advised every citizen to sink a soak pit in his house premises and thereby recharge groundwater.
