Visakhapatnam: The staff of State Bank of branch (RACPC-2) near NAD Junction on Friday took up tree plantation at Shantinagar Park to mark the bank’s Formation Day celebrations. Speaking on the function, SBI Assistant General Manager D Rajaramamohana Rao stated that the organisation was donating fans, benches and water purifiers to schools in connection with the Formation Day.

Rao disclosed that this year 1.4 lakh saplings would be planted in 1,400 branches in the Hyderabad Circle at the rate of 100 saplings each, as a step intended to protect the environment.

He stressed the importance of protecting the planted saplings.The AGM observed that only by taking up a massive tree plantation drive safe and secure environment could be ensured for the benefit of future generations.

He recalled that huge trees planted by our predecessors were now providing clean air to the current generation. Among those present were former corporator Sridhar, Park Welfare Association Secretary Prakasa Rao, bank secretary Mungena Srinivasa Rao, assistant branch secretary A Chandrasekar, local Secretary Vijaykumar and treasurer Kiran, besides a large number of bank employees.
