Tirupati: TTD executive officer D Sambasiva Rao said that devotees, who come by walk for tonsuring at Kalyanakatta in Tirumala, would be provided more facilities in three months. This include special counters to keep footwear, luggage and six more counters for offering tonsuring tokens to ease congestion.

The executive officer on Sunday inspected the Kalyanakatta, Divya Darshan Complex, Cellar Chambers in Vaikuntam Q Complex, Rs 300 ticket devotees Q line and PAC-2.

Speaking to the media after the inspections, executive officer said that the engineering and vigilance wing has been reviewing and giving final touches to these new initiatives which will ease the devotees’ pressure from running between luggage counters to Kalyanakatta and also for darshan queues. While he was inspecting the Rs 300 ticket queue lines, a woman devotee from Chennai thanked the executive officer for simplifying the system for darshan and laddu procurement.

While inspecting the PAC-2 and the mini-kalyanakattas, the executive officer directed the engineers to extend the mini- kalyanakatta and locker facilities to devotees so that they could utilise the infrastructure developed by TTD for them.

Prominent TTD officials, who accompanied the executive officer during his inspections were chief engineer Chandrasekhar Reddy, SE-II Ramachandra Reddy, chief security officer Ravindra Reddy, chief vigilance officer Vimala Kumari, health officer Dr Sharmista, kalyanakatta deputy executive officer Baby Sarojini and others.
