Rampa Chodavaram: Blood Bank and Arogyasri wards would be set up at Rampa Chodavaram Area Hospital, Collector H Arun Kumar said here on Monday.

Inspecting ongoing works in the hospital here, the Collector said that steps were being taken to increase bed strength in the hospital. He also informed that the State government had sanctioned an area hospital in Chintur.

Later, the Collector participated in seed distribution programme held at Krishi Vignana Kendra at Pandirimamidi village. He distributed three kg maize seeds for 500 farmers, two kg black gram for 70 farmers and six kg green gram for 50 farmers under tribal sub-plan.

The Collector advised the Krishi Vignana Kendra to help tribal famers get high yield by adopting modern farming methods.

The Collector said that steps were being taken to increase soil fertility for boosting crop yield in Agency area. He urged the Krishi Vignana Kendra to ensure that the fruits of research reach tribal farmers. He assured all possible help to tribal farmers.

ITDA project officer K V N Chankradhar Babu, Sub-Collector Ravi Pattan Setty, Krishi Vignana Kendra programme coordinator Dr A Srinivas and AD Mallikharjuna Rao were present.
