Dejected lovers commit suicide
Since quite some time, Obulesu and Asha Bee were in love with each other and also planned to marry. However, members of the two families, who were unaware of their relationship, were said to have sought proposals for performing their marriages from various places. A proposal of marriage for Asha Bee came from Giddalur while Obulesu’s family members sought an alliance from some other place.
Kurnool: A couple in love committed suicide by consuming poison pills at Mukkamala Village Sanjamala mandal in the district on Tuesday. According to Sanjamala police, Obulesu (22) and Asha Bee (18) were said to be residents of Mukkamala Village.
Since quite some time, Obulesu and Asha Bee were in love with each other and also planned to marry. However, members of the two families, who were unaware of their relationship, were said to have sought proposals for performing their marriages from various places. A proposal of marriage for Asha Bee came from Giddalur while Obulesu’s family members sought an alliance from some other place.
The couple who did not want to disclose about their affair to their parents thought of a plan to end their lives as they did not want to bear the desperation of being apart.
Obulesu and Asha Bee consumed the poison pills when no one was around and fell unconscious, said Sub-Inspector Vijay Bhaskar. After finding them in an unconscious state, the family members shifted them to Nandyal hospital for treatment. However, both of them died while undergoing treatment. A case has been registered and is under investigation, said the SI.
