Investiture ceremony at Korukonda Sainik School held
Annual investiture ceremony was held at Sainik School, Korukonda in Vizianagaram district on Saturday on a grand note. Ex-Saikorian Lt Gen Surendranath was the chief guest.

A few worthy cadets of the school were selected to share some of the school administrative responsibilities with an aim to inculcating in them certain qualities, which would enable them to be groomed as future leaders of the country. Nearly, 49 cadets from Class VI to Class XII were conferred with rank badges/epaulettes and their appointments include School Cadet Captain, School Cadet Adjutant, School Cadet Cultural Captain, Sports Cadet Captain, Cadet House Captains, Cadet House prefects, Cadet House Vice Prefects and Class Prefects.
Upon his arrival at the school, Lt Gen Surendranath was accorded a warm welcome by Lt Col Praveen Kumar, Principal of the school. The chief guest customarily laid a wreath at the War Memorial and paid homage to the gallantry heroes who sacrificed their lives to guard the motherland. Later, Surendranath inaugurated the renovated skating rink at Uday Bhasker Park in the school.
The Principal’s Banner was presented to the Champion House viz Gupta House among the senior cadet houses and Champion Junior House Pallava House among the Junior Houses for the academic year 2015-2016. The maiden but prestigious NDA Rolling Trophy was awarded to Chalukya House for sending maximum cadets to the NDA.
