Ongole: Police should take prior permission from the District Collector while booking criminal cases against the revenue officials, said
Bopparaju Venkateswarlu, president of the Revenue Officers Association.

He said, “The revenue officials with partial judicial powers were executing the orders of the government in removing encroachments,
seizing the illegal activities of sand mining, illegal sale and transport of commodities. But the accused were encouraging others to
complain against the officials on corruption and booking false cases. We were facing these false cases for the past five to six years. The
State government had issued instructions to the DGP to book criminal cases against the revenue officials only after taking permission
from the District Collector. But the police were not following those instructions.”

He met Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy in Ongole on Sunday and requested him to see the police follow the government
instructions without fail.

The Deputy Chief Minister promised the revenue officials that he would take the issue to the notice of the Chief Minister on Monday.
