Kakinada: The Left parties pledged support to the call for bandh on August 2 in protest against NDA government’s denial to grant Special
Category Status to the State. CPI leader Tatipaka Madhu and CPM leader Duvva Seshu Babji appealed to all sections of society, including
students, employees, business establishments, banks and other organisations to extend their cooperation in making the bandh a success.

Speaking to newsmen at Sundarayya Bhavan, here on Sunday, the duo lashed out at Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for his
statements’ on Special Status in Rajya Sabha. “A few States were accorded Special Status with a Cabinet resolution. Why can’t the same
be done in case of Andhra Pradesh,” they questioned. They demanded the TDP leadership to lead an all party delegation to New Delhi to
represent the issue. Tokala Prasad and others were present.
