Visakhapatnam: Plantation of saplings as part of the State government’s prestigious programme Vanam-Manam would be a continuous
exercise on the university campus and surrounding areas, said Vice-Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao.

The Vice-Chancellor said here on Sunday that plantation would be given priority, along with academics. He thanked the varsity
authorities, students and employees for taking up the mega plantation programme on July 29 in a big way on the campus. Registrar Prof
Umamaheswara Rao and Dean of Student Affairs Prof P Hariprakash were also present. Later, accompanied by Rector Prof E A Narayana,
Registrar Prof Umamaheswara Rao and university engineers, the Vice-Chancellor visited the Andhra University Convention Centre which
was under construction and examined the work.

Meanwhile, the university authorities seized the hostel room of researcher Lagudu Govind on Saturday, who was caught by the police on
the charge of indulging in criminal activities outside the campus. Similarly, the details of one Challa Naresh was also collected and
Registrar Prof Umamaheswara Rao wrote a letter to the Arts College principal to initiate action against these two candidates.
