Hyderabad: Hindupur MLA and film actor N Balakrishna warned the Centre of serious consequences if it fails to accord Special Category Status to the State.
Balakrishna, who had come to meet State Labour and Employment Minister K Atchannaidu to discuss developmental works in his constituency, here on Thursday, addressed a press conference.
He said that he made it clear even earlier that if the BJP failed to deliver on its promise of giving special status to the State, then it will have to face serious consequences.
Terming that it was the BJP leaders who had demanded special status for 10 years, when the UPA had announced the same for five years, he said it was the responsibility of BJP to address all the issues of the State. However, if they do not keep up their promise, they will have to pay heavy price, he warned.
