Vijaya Bank has declared Paladugu as Digital Banking Village

Vijaya Bank (A Govt. of India Undertaking), serving the Nation since 1931 having large number of customers and Branches across the country. Vijaya Bank, a name for innovations, adoptions, awards, service etc in Banking Industry. Apart from business, Vijaya Bank has been doing service to public by various ways through its Financial Inclusion Division. In this way, of late Vijaya Bank has started digitalization of villages through its rural Branches. The aim of digitalization is to provide Bank accounts to all people in villages and educate them to avail the various services of Bank through electronic mode. Vijaya Bank had already adopted Chandagalu Village in Mandya Region, Karnataka State and Dupalli Village in Hyderabad Region, Telangana State for digitalization. In Andhra Pradesh, Vijaya Bank adopted Paladugu Village in Guntur District for digitalization.
Shri Bachina Subba Rama Rao Executive Director of Vijaya bank has declared the Paladugu Village of Guntur District as Digital Village on 08.08.2016. This is 3 rd digital Branch of Vijaya Bank and 1 st of its kind in Andhra Pradesh.
Bank has opened Paladugu Branch on 16 th October, 2015. As a part of Bank’s vision on digitalization program Bank has digitalized this village in order to provide access to modern banking to the villagers. All the villagers have been imparted with digital literacy, issued with debit cards to utilise the facility to the optimum level.
The village is now connected with broadband high speed internet creating digital infrastructure and public wi-fi spots have been provided at various locations for the public to get connected. The villagers can utlise the banking services through mobile phones, internet and tablet. The transactions like transfer of funds, merchant payments like mobile top up / dth top up / utility payments etc., and all the savings bank accounts of the villagers are seeded with Aadhar numbers and they can get Government benefits directly to their accounts. All the accounts are covered under social security schemes like Pradhana Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY).
The Bank has branch network of 1885 branches with total delivery channels of more than 1680 across the country. The Bank also has its combined presence of about 183 branches and 163 ATMs in both states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Vijayawada Region of the Bank has a branch network of 57 branches and 56 ATMs spread over in 8 districts of Andhra Pradesh.
On this occasion, Shri B S Rama Rao said that the total business of the Bank as on 30 th June, 2016 was Rs.217839.00 crore. The total business figure of Vijayawada Region has crossed to Rs.6517.00 crore as on date and about Rs.8847.00 crore in Andhra Pradesh State.
It is said that in the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh, the total branches network is 104 and poised to touch 116 by the end of this fiscal. In Telangana, the Bank has a net work of 79 branches and planning to open another 4 branches during the current financial year. The total Branches in Telugu states touched 183 and the bank is planning to increase this number to 200 by the end of current financial year.
Bank has a robust IT platform offering various alternate channels viz v-net, mobile banking, e-lobby at par with any new generation bank. The mobile banking customers of the bank have crossed 13 Lakhs. Bank is connecting with customers 24x7 by social media i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram, YouTube etc. Recently, Bank received award “Best Bank for Electronic Payments among Mid-size Banks” and “Certification” from the RBI Governor Dr. Raghuram Rajan under Banking Technology Excellence Awards.
The function was organized in a befitting manner with the participation of good number of customers. Shri. T. Sravan Kumar, Tadikonda MLA, Shri Hari Krishna, Executive Director, AP Fibre grid project, Shri K. Sivaiah, Regional Manager, Shri S Kantha Rao, Asst. General Manager of Vijayawada Region, Shri Y Murali Krishna, Workmen Director of the Bank, Shri Chilaka Prakasa Rao, Branch Manager and several executives and staff members have participated in the event.
