Tirumala: Unlike in the past the TTD is fully geared with coordinated effort of all TTD departments as well as police, RTC and district administration to provide darshan at Srivari Temple on the same day (i.e within 24 hours) avoiding delay to pilgrims during the ensuing 9-day annual Brahmotsavams, beginning from October 3.

Reviewing the preparations at a coordination committee meeting at Annamayya Bhavan, here on Friday, with District Administration, Urban police SP and RTC RM and other departments of TTD, TTD Executive officer Dr D Sambasiva Rao said we aim to provide satisfactory darshan to all devotees on the same day. Special instructions will be relayed time-to-time during the day to devotees to take advantage of darshan in the lean periods at the Srivari temple,” he said.

Rao said special arrangements are being made so that the devotees after darshan will be provided special passes to enter the gallery and witness the Vahana sevas so that there is no clash and confusion in entry and exits from four Mada streets during the nine day fete.He said the devotees would be given prompt and satisfactory service with full coordination of all departments so that their stay at Tirumala will be memorable with full of devotional elixir and spiritual flavour during Brahmotsavams.

Later, the District Collector Siddharth Jain said the entire district administration was fully geared under the leadership of TTD EO to serve the devotees and make the Brahmotsavams a grand success. Urban SP Jayalakshmi said said that a special unit , police seva dal, was also being formulated this year to assist the devotees during Brahmotsavams . In close coordination with the TTD officials, police department will strive to serve the devotees and make the holy event a smooth affair.

Other issues discussed in the meeting include APSRTC running 3,500 trips to ferry 1.75 lakh devotees on Garuda Seva Day while plying of two wheelers be banned on from early hours on October 7 till early hours of Oct 8.

Special vehicle maintenance teams will be deployed at many locations on ghat roads to attend on any break down vehicles and ensure smooth flow of traffic. The temple Potu (kitchen) department will retain 7 lakh buffer stock of laddus during the nine day to avoid scarcity during the major religious event.

Both the walkers (foot) paths-Alipiri and Srivari Mettu- will be thrown open for 24 hours on Garuda Seva day while Garuda Seva, the most important event of Brahmotsavams will commence early from 7.30 pm this year. TTD JEOs KS Sreenivasa Raju, Pola Bhaskar CVSO G Srinivas and others were present.
