Amaravati: When U Yedukondalu was selected for the first ever free open heart surgery in a government hospital in May, he dreamt that he is going to lead the normal life and can earn money to feed his familyAs five months have passed after the successful heart transplant surgery, Yedukondalu doesn’t seem to recover due to poverty and lack of nutritious food. He continues to take medicines given by GGH (Guntur Government Hospital) and remains in his house.

Yedukondalu said that the doctors assured his recovery within the three months but he still hopes that he will recover after a year. He also expressed his helplessness to his wife to run the family and promised education for their children.

It is to be mention that Yedukondalu, a car driver had a cardiac problem and has approached the private hospitals for the treatment. He said that he had spent Rs 1 lakh on the treatment. Finally, he approached Dr.AGK Gokhale for treatment.

Doctor Gokhale, who treated Yedukondalu said that needs to undergo heart transplant surgery. Taking patient financial position into consideration, he freely performed heart transplant surgery worth of Rs 20 lakh in GGH.
