SCs protest against Sub-collector

Tirupati: A group of 15 people belonging to scheduled castes (SCs) staged a protest at the RDO office against sub-collector Himanshu
Shukla for his alleged rude behavior, on Monday. The SCs from Vagivedu Dalit colony had gone to the sub-collector’s office seeking
redressal of their land problem and cancellation of bogus pattas allegedly given to outsiders who were not from their village. The Dalits
alleged that Shukla had insulted them and, filed a complaint with the police.
Meanwhile, Kula Vivaksha Porata Samithi (KVPS) and AP Vyavasaya Karmika Sangham (APVKS) in a separate press release on Monday
condemned the sub-collector for insulting the SCs. The sub-collector behaved rudely when the SCs tried to narrate their problem and also
tore the banner they were holding and threw it away, alleged KVPS state president K Subrahmanyam while demanding the arrest of
Shukla under the SC/ST Act.
