Vizianagaram: Union Minister for Civil aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that women should be economically empowered and lead society on the path of progress. Participating in a programme at Denkada on Monday, the Minister distributed financial support worth Rs.14.8 crores to the DWCRA group.

“Both the State and Union governments are working for the welfare of women and expanding banking services and promoting digitalisation to minimize corruption. He said that beneficiaries were now getting their grants and subsidies credited directly into their accounts. Minister for Information and Public relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the State government was implementing several welfare schemes despite facing a huge financial crunch. “We are encouraging the women to earn more to improve their quality of life,” he said.

District collector Vivek Yadav said that AP was ahead of many northern states in women empowerment and added that the government was working hard to support the women in all aspects. ZP chairperson Dr S Swathi Rani, MLA P Narayana Swamy Naidu and others participated.
