Vijayawada: Thirty-five MLAs of opposition YSRCP who met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at his camp office here on Friday accused him of behaving in an autocratic manner by denying Assembly Constituency Development Funds to them.

They said he had no intention of allocating constituency development funds to the constituencies represented by Opposition. Stating that they were deeply distressed by his attitude, the YSRCP legislators alleged that the Chief Minister had failed to give even some respect to them.

Addressing the media here after meeting the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, for the first time in the last two-and-a-half years, they said the Chief Minister had bluntly told them that he would not allocate constituency development funds to MLAs of opposition.

“No other Chief Minister in State’ history has behaved like him,” they said, terming the meeting ‘unsuccessful”.

Earlier in the morning, the Opposition MLAs visited the State capital Amaravati for the first time. They reached State Guesthouse here in the morning.

After having breakfast, they left for temporary Secretariat at Velagapudi. They inspected the newly-built temporary Secretariat building and also had a glance of Assembly and Legislative Council buildings under construction.

They had a brief interaction with Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu at Secretariat. Later, they interacted with the farmers of the villages about their problems.

Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy alleged that standards of quality were not followed in the construction of Interim Secretariat buildings.

During their meeting with the Chief Minister in the evening, they raised the issue of cancellation of high-value currency notes and urged him to take measures to avoid inconvenience to farmers and common people.
