The SCR has been allotted 13 new infrastructure projects, including Vijayawada–Amaravati– Guntur new line project sanctioned at a cost of Rs 2,680 crore for a distance of 106 km and development of the Rajahmundry Yard at an estimated cost of Rs 27.2 crore. The construction of a new crossing station has been sanctioned between Ulindakonda and Veldurthi.
In a joint venture (JV), as part of capital investment programme, a new work for extension of the Vijayawada-Gudivada project up to Machilipatnam Deep Water Port for a length of 10 km at a cost of Rs 130 crore has been sanctioned.
Budgetary allocations for other ongoing projects

Among new surveys sanctioned, a majority of them fall between Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states.
For instance, new survey for fourth line to a length of 219 km between Kazipet – Vijayawada has been sanctioned.
(Telangana and Andhra Pradesh), 120 km between Dharmavaram - Bellary and 132 km between Hindupur - Chitradurga (Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka) has been sanctioned.
A 250 km line between Kondapalli - Kirandul (Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh) has been sanctioned.
Besides, a 110 km line between Mantralayam Road – Kurnool has also been sanctioned. The budgetary allocation for 2017-18 has been substantial, said SCR general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav, while addressing the media here on Friday.
“There has been a jump of 42 per cent compared to the last year budget. From Rs 2,134 crore to Rs 3,034 crore it is a big leap,” he said.
For new lines, the budgetary grant is Rs 887 crore, as against Rs 760 crore for 2016-17, which is 17 % more. For doubling works, the budgetary grant is Rs 436 crore, as against Rs 172.6 crore for 2016-17, which is 153 % more.
For traffic facilities, the budgetary grant is Rs 96.1 crore, as against Rs 75 crore for 2016-17, which is 28 % more and for passenger amenities, the budgetary grant is Rs 67.8 crore, as against Rs 65.6 crore for 2016-17, which is 3 % more.
Among other notable projects, at Rayanapadu, a new work for augmentation of periodic overhauling capacity of CPOH shed has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 8.7 crore.
Construction of a waiting hall on platform 1 at Tirupati station has been sanctioned at a cost of Rs.3.72 crore, new foot over bridge at a cost of Rs. 2.70 crore has been sanctioned at Gudur station and replacement of conventional lights to LED at Guntur is planned in the 2017-18 period.
A long pending desire of development of a yard at Rajahmundry has been given a green signal and the allotment is to the tune of Rs 27.2 crore.
