Speaking at a review meeting involving housing corporation officials on the relief and rehabilitation (R&R) package here at the Collectorate on Saturday, the Collector said that Rs127 crore would be released immediately for constructing the houses colony across 17 locations.

As part of the R&R package, one quality model house at a cost of Rs 2.53 would be built covering the basic infrastructure. In the II-phase, all houses would be constructed on the pattern of model houses.

Should the beneficiary choose to build houses with additional facilities then the former would have to pay the extra amount accordingly, added the Collector.

Rs57.45 crore has been earmarked for housing and Rs 35 crore for roads and 7.82 crore for drainage facilities and Rs2.42 crore would be spent on leveling works, the Collector informed.

Steps would be taken to ensure every colony houses an Anganwadi Centre, a school, church, temple, hospital, tribal store, shopping complex and a drinking water reservoir, said the Collector.

Additionally, community hall, dumping yard, power and water pipeline facilities would also be provided in the model colonies, informed the Collector.

Joint Collector P Koteswara Rao, Land Acquisition Special Collector Bhanu Prasad, Housing Board Project Director E Srinivas, DRO Katta Hymavathi were among those who participated in the review meeting.
