Kadapa: The annual Navahnika Brahmotsavams had colourful start at Sri Kodandarama Swami temple in Vontimitta in Kadapa district on Wednesday. The ‘Dhwajapatham’ bearing the image of Lord Garuda was hoisted on temple pillar in a ceremonious way amidst Vedic chant of Archakas.

TTD trust board chief Dr Ch Krishnamurthy said, the motto of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is to extend Vontimitta temple as most sought after pilgrim centre."We have Lord Sri Rama as role model to entire humanity. He is a divine human being. TTD is committed to develop this ancient temple.

Sri Sita Rama Kalyanotsavam will be held on April 10, for which elaborate arrangements are being made for the convenience of the devotees,” he said. Special ritual was performed inside the temple in the wee hours on Wednesday; meanwhile the temple administration has made elaborate arrangements in view of conducting the annual festival in grand scale.

The temple surroundings have been illuminating and welcome arches have been erected for the annual festival.He further added that all devotees, who participate in the Kalyanotsavam, will be provided with Prasadam and packet of Mutyala Talambralu which were being provided by TTD.

Later in the evening the deities took celestial ride on Sesha Vahanam. Kavi Sammelan has also been arranged wherein stalwart poets took part to showcase their literary expertise on the occasion Sri Rama Jayanthi. District Collector K V Satyanarayana reviewed with the police officials the security arrangements being made for the Governor and Chief Minister’s visit.

Inspection by JEO After the Dhwajarohanam ceremony had held in a smooth manner, the JEO Tirupati Sri P Bhaskar inspected the ongoing arrangements for the big fete of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 10 along with CE Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy and other officials.
