Minister for Tourism, Akhila Priya said that she is awaiting the direction of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to field one of her family members for Nandyal Assembly constituency by-election. Tirupati: Minister for Tourism, Akhila Priya said that she is awaiting the direction of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to field one of her family members for Nandyal Assembly constituency by-election. Akhila Priya, the party coordinator for Tirupati Parliament constituency was here to participate in TDP coordination committee meeting here on Monday. Speaking to the media after the party meeting, she affirmed that she would abide by the decision of Chief Minister with regard to Nandyal election.
The tourism minister said that her priority was to bailout the tourism development corporation from the mounting losses. Though Rayalaseema region has high tourism potential, it remained untapped causing loss to the department she said, adding that a high level meeting will be held soon on development of tourism places in Rayalaseema region to attract more tourists for improving revenue.
In her first meeting as Tirupati Parliament in-charge with TDP leaders, she sought the party activists to play pro-active role in taking the government welfare schemes to the needy. Local MLA M Suguna, party city president Bhaskar Yadav and others were present.
