Guntur: A lorry carrying 269 bags of chilli reduced to ashes when the bags came in contact with a live electric wire at Y Junction near Guntur Mirchi Yard in the city on Wednesday.On receiving information, police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The loss is estimated at Rs 80,000. The chilli stock belongs to a trader in the city. Police registered a case and took up investigation.
