Kadapa: Following directions of the state government, the district administration is proposed to acquire 897 hectares of land in four mandals--Mydukur, Porumamilla,Brahmamgari Matam and Railway Kodur--for the construction of greenfield expressway, a six lane road from Anantapur to Amaravati. According to the sources, the district administration proposed to conduct a public hearing for acquiring lands from the farmers by paying compensation.

Principal Secretary (Roads & Buildings) Sumita Dawra, who visited the district on May 15, had interacted with the officials over acquisition of lands and directed District Collector T Baburao Naidu to complete acquiring of lands by June end. Later, addressing the media, Sumita Dawra said that state government is committed to complete the construction of greenfield expressway at the earliest. The Collector said 897 hectares of land identified in four mandals for the purpose. He said that government has already issued the guidelines related to the compensation for acquired lands in different categories.
