As part of this campaign, a one day workshop was organised at DWMA conference hall in distinct collect orate on Sunday for the NGOs (non-governmental organisations) who have come forward to conduct the campaign on massive scale.Participating in the inaugural programme,

District Collector Kartikeya Mishra released a brochure on water conservation and advised the partisans to work in close coordination with DWMA and also consult the elders in each village in taking up the programme. The collector stressed the need to spread the message of ‘conservation of water for future generations.’ He advised the participants to concentrate on water audit and water budgeting also.

Explaining the details of the water conservation campaign, Nabard AGM K V S Prasad said that the programme has been planned on a massive scale at national level and in 10 districts in Andhra Pradesh. For conducting the campaign in East Godavari, two NGOs have been identified. These are Swarajya Abhyudaya Seva Samithi, of Samalkot and Creators Charitable Organisation of Rajamahendravaram, the AGM said.

On their part, each of these two NGOs share 250 villages for the campaign in the district. The programme in 500 villages will be completed in a span of 45 days. Officials of DWMA and agriculture department explained their programmes for water conservation in the district.
