They attacked him with axes and knives while he was walking along a street in Kampamalla village of Kurnool district. The deceased was identified as Nageswara Reddy, who had a running feud with his cousins Narayana Reddy and Rammohan Reddy.

A profusely bleeding and critically injured Nageswara Reddy was rushed to the government hospital at Koilkuntla and later shifted to the government hospital at Kurnool where he succumbed while undergoing treatment later in the night. The victim’s brother, Somula Venkata Subba Reddy lodged a complaint with the Koilkuntla police. A case was registered against eight persons in the murder case. Kampamalla residents expressed anguish over close relations going to the extent of killing one another on minor property-related issues.
