  • Customers are not venturing out for shopping due to heat wave
  • Shopping malls witness heavy crowds in evenings, nights

On the other hand, even biggest shopping malls, too, are facing similar problem during the past few weeks. Due to increasing urbanisation, dozens of shopping malls mushroomed in the city in every nook and corner of the city. Most of these shopping malls and super markets have centrally air-conditioned facility. In spite of that most of the customers are not willing to visit the shops during the day time.

A busy shopping mall located at Labbipet and MG Road are witnessing the impact of scorching heat as number of customers dwindled compared to last month for the same period. Only movie goers are spotted for the last few days and there are no buyers in the 50 odd big reputed showrooms in the shopping malls.

P Manoj Kumar, manager of a branded textile showroom, said that there was a drop in the customers during the day time. He further stated that there was a steady increase of visitors at the mall after 5 pm. He said for the customers having cars it makes no difference whether day or night they directly come to shopping mall and park vehicles at the parking zone and visit the shops.
