Security was beefed up at lower and upper Abhobilam temples as the 6 kilometre stretch falls in thick forest area.

Centre to lay a route connecting three temples - Srisailam, Ahobilam and Tirumala

At lower Ahobilam temple, the temple authorities received the Union minister with poorna kumbham. The minister along with his wife offered special prayers to Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. After the prayers the temple chief priest Venu Gopalan presented prasadam to the minister. Amidst tight security, Ananth Kumar and his wife reached upper Ahobilam and took the blessings of Ugra Narasimha Swamy.

Later, addressing media, the minister said Ahobilam temple has importance among other temples in the country. He said that he would strive for the development of this temple on par with other famous temple in the country. “A route connecting three temples - Srisailam, Ahobilam and Tirumala will be laid so that the devotees can have simultaneous darshans of the presiding deities. A well-equipped hospital will be constructed for extending quality treatment to the devotees,” he informed.

Ananth Kumar said that he would put a note to the Union minister for tourism to visit Ahobilam next month, so that the developmental programmes could be planned and taken up. After press briefing the Central minister held a meeting with the departmental heads and discussed about the development of Kurnool district.

The minister also said that Modi government was implementing many welfare schemes to benefit downtrodden. “In no time BJP government won the hearts of the people,” he claimed.District collector S Satyanarayana, joint collector Prasanna Venkatesh, and others were present.
