APCC expresses solidarity with PHSS
APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy extended his support to Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samithi (PHSS) members who sat on a 96-hour hunger strike at Dharna Chowk here on Tuesday demanding that the BJP-led Union government should implement AP Reorganisation Act (APRA) properly.

Addressing the gathering here on Wednesday, he alleged that the Union government had been cheating people of the State since 2014. It has failed to provide Special Category Status (SCS) to the State and failed to properly implement APRA.

He said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu would not be able to complete the Polavaram Project by 2019 as the Union government was not allocating funds to the project as per the estimates. “SCS is the only solution to the all problems and development of AP on par with other South Indian States and the ruling party leaders must fight with the Central government over the issue,” he added. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to people of AP that the BJP-led NDA government would provide the Special Category Status to the State.
Sri Krishnadevaraya University Professor N Sada Siva Reddy who sat on an indefinite hunger strike for 96 hours said that AP people had lost Rs 50,000 worth of assets in Hyderabad due to the State government’s negligent attitude in getting its share of assets from Telangana State under Section-108 of APRA.
He said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu should take the responsibility and ensure extension of provisions under Section-108 in APRA up to June 2019 to facilitate the State get its share of the combined assets.
CPM leader Ch Babu Rao, city Congress president M Vishnu, YSRCP MLC V Gopala Reddy and former Minister Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Rao also extended their support to PHSS members who are on a fast.
