Vijayawada: Rail Mazdoor Union national general secretary Subhash Malgi criticised Union government for not clearing revised allowances for railway staff even after two years of implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.Addressing a meeting in Railway Institute, here on Thursday, Malgi said the government has divided that pay allowance as ‘pay’ and ‘allowance’ and did not release allowance.

He said it was unfortunate that some railway unions were not concern over the issue and not ready to fight on behalf of lakhs of railway employees.RMU general secretary T Prabhu Charan said that Indian Railway might face tough time, if rail employees and unions were silence on government’s unilateral decisions such as merge of railway budget into general budget and introduction of outsourcing workers system in all sections of railways.

Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma Maheswara Rao said that the TNTUC would be support to railway employees, especially to RMU. RMU divisional secretary YSRKVD Prasad said the RMU will continue its fight on railway employees’ issues where some recognised unions failed.
