Vizianagaram: The appointment of district TDP chief was causing rift between the two ministers in the district. Ganta Srinivasa Rao, RVSK Ranga Rao were seriously trying to put their loyalists and followers in the post. Telugu Desam Party had appointed the presidents for all the districts except Vizag and Vizianagaram.

The high command has put the appointment of Vizag district president pending of Mahanadu. Even the high command has finalised the heads for urban and rural units of the district. But the bigwigs of TDP could not come to conclusion regarding the Vizianagaram district chief.

Actually, union minister for civil aviation P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju was leading the district TDP for the past thirty years and even the district president and other nominated posts were also being appointed as per his suggestions and recommendations.

Even the high command also never objected the advices and recommendations of the minister. This time, Ganta Srinivasa Rao who was appointed as in-charge of the district had objected for unilateral decision and suggested to record every opinion of the leaders here. So, Ashok had directed Ganta Srinivasa Rao and others to take opinions from the other leaders like MLAs, MLCs of the district to decide the district president.

RVSK Ranga Rao, minister for mines and geology belonging to the district was trying to put his follower in the post of district head. He was proposing K Kondababu, senior leader of the district and also ZP chairperson Dr Swathi Rani was suggesting the same person.

On the other hand, Ganta was also trying to put his follower to enjoy the power and to control the district unit here. He was proposing M Chinnam Naidu, a senior in the party.Even Ganta was supporting another person K Appala Naidu, MLA of Gajapathinagaram. Now, both Sujay and Ganta Srinivas were lobbying at high command to get upper hand in the issue.

The high command was in dilemma and had finally decided to select the right candidate through Interactive voice response system (IVRS). The cadre was getting phone calls from the party office and voting through mobile phone was happening to choose their favourite candidate. Anyhow, this issue has caused a rift between the two ministers in the district.
