GITAM University Pharmacy student GD Susmitha has been selected for Japan based Toyama India Exchange Student Prefectural Scholarship program for the year 2016.

Visakhapatnam: GITAM University Pharmacy student GD Susmitha has been selected for Japan based Toyama India Exchange Student Prefectural Scholarship program for the year 2016.

The Toyama Prefectural Government Affairs Division appreciated the GITAM student for her selection and invited to study her master’s program in Toyama University, Japan. Toyama Prefecture General Policy Bureau Director Hikoshi Ogino in his message mentioned that Toyama Prefecture holds great hopes for Susmitha’s future as an employee of DAITO Co. Ltd and an active link connecting Toyama Prefecture and India.

GITAM University Vice-Chancellor Prof MS Prasada Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof K Sivaramakrishna, Institute of Pharmacy Principal Prof S Ganapathi appreciated the student here on Friday for her achievement.

The state government had signed a MoU with Toyama Prefecture in the year 2015 during the visit of Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to India.

The Memorandum of Understanding between Andhra Pradesh and Toyama facilitates mutual collaboration between the governments, institutions and academic exchange. The present scholarship is also a part of AP government MoU with Japan.
