Anantapur: Hundreds of people, political, students and trade union leaders participated in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha aimed at rededication to re-build the bifurcated state, at the Clock Tower Centre here on Friday. Participating in the meeting presided over by the local MLA V Prabhakar Chowdary, Ministers Kalava Srinivasulu and Paritala Sunitha has lauded the people and leaders for aggressively fighting against bifurcation of the state.

They called upon the people and leaders and officials to work for re-building the state on all fronts.Sreenivasulu accused the Congress of unilaterally dividing the state to realise its own political agenda. Despite hassles and limitations for state development, the state is being steered on the path of development by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. In the post-bifurcation era, the state emerged as power surplus state.

The Chief Minister is spending Rs 2,500 crore on Handri-Neeva project which is a lifeline to Rayalaseema. The HLC canal modernisation which is pending for 30 years is now nearing completion. Bairavanitippa and Perur irrigation projects will help the district on the irrigation front, Srinivasulu said.

Paritala Sunitha said that all sections of people put up a united fight against bifurcation of the state but unfortunately did not succeed in keeping the state together. She said that the Nava Nirmana Deeksha is aimed at rededicating ourselves for the development of our state. City Mayor M Swaroopa and Deputy Mayor Gampanna also spoke.

District Collector Veera Pandian and a host of district officials, MLAs, MLCs and several trade union leaders participated. Several anti-bifurcation leaders who fought to keep the state together were felicitated on the occasion.
