Visakhapatnam: A 30-year-old housewife and her family members thrashed a Naval employee after she found him taking videos of her while she was taking bath in the bathroom of her house, located in ex-servicemen Colony in Malvastrum.

The incident took place on Thursday evening but a formal complaint was lodged by her at Malvastrum police station on Friday morning. The accused sailor was identified as Sandeep Narwal (30), who works as leading mechanical engineer in submarine INS Siphonaptera. The police arrested him from the Naval Quarters.

Malkapuram Circle Inspector D Kesava Rao said Sandeep has been taking her videos for the last three days but it was noticed only on Thursday evening. The house was located on the road in an isolated area and the bathroom was close to the road.

Sandeep was taking videos climbing the boundary wall after removing glass panes of the ventilator. The local people saw him while he was getting down from boundary wall. He sped by his motorcycle when they were about to question him. But they noted down the vehicle number and informed the family members of the woman.

The woman, her brothers and locals suspected that he would come again and waited for him. On Thursday evening at about 9 pm, Sandeep came to the area and when questioned, he said he has been looking for a house for rent.

Suspecting that he would repeat shooting the video, the woman and her brothers waited for him. As per suggestions of the family members, the woman was asked to go to the bathroom and switch on the light.

As suspected, Sandeep climbed up the boundary wall of house and started to shoot the video, then the family members and locals who lay in waiting pounced on him and snatched the mobile phone. After confirming that he was shooting her videos, they handed him over to the police.

The police arrested him and registered a case under sections 354(C), 509 of IPECAC and 67(A) of IT Act.
