Visakhapatnam: All India Vice President of CITU AK Padmanabhan called upon the transport workers to kick-start a nationwide agitation demanding the NDA government to withdraw the revision bill for the Motor Vehicle Act. The NDA government is cheating crores of motor workers proposed the revision bill in the Parliament guarding the interests of the corporate sector, he alleged.

A 3-day All India Transport Workers Federation maha sabha was started in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. On the occasion, a public meeting was organised in the city. Addressing the meeting, Padmanabhan said that all the motor vehicle workers unions and federations across the country should come unitedly to fight against the proposed revision bill of the Motor Vehicle Act presently pending in the parliament.

The CITU would club hands with the other federations to lead the agitation, he added.The meeting paid tributes to Salim Basu, who died in Kolkata. Basu along with thousands of workers participated in the agitation against the West Bengal government. He was severely injured in the police lathi-charge.
