Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna stated that Chittoor will emerge as an industrial hub as the state government is keen to develop Tirupati, Piler and Srikalahasti constituencies as part of industrial corridor. He participated as a chief guest in the Nava Nirmana Deeksha meeting held at premises of Tirupati Municipal Corporation (TMC) here on Tuesday.

Addressing the gathering, Pradyumna said that the government will build four-lane and six-lane roads for improving transport in the district. The Collector said 30,000 people are participating in Nava Nirmana Deeksha across the district every day.

Pradyumna announced that the state government will arrange study tour for students to visit the Sri City, Amara Raja Growth Corridor and Renigunta Electronic Manufacturing cluster. “State government is trying to create more than one lakh jobs by year-end with the cooperation of Sri City, Amara Raja, and other entrepreneurs.

The Collector confirmed that district will be declared as kerosene and smoke free on June 8 as the Civil Supplies department has sanctioned 1.2 lakh cooking gas connections under Deepam scheme. Sri City representative Satish said that 80 foreign industries are involved in manufacturing of various products in Sri City. “Sri City has created best infrastructure for development of industries,” he added.

Tirupati MLA Suguna has appreciated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for putting efforts for development of the state. Amara Raja Group Chairman Galla Ramachandra Naidu explained the growth of his business in the last 30 years. TMC Commissioner C Hari Kiran, Celkon Chairman and Managing Director Y Guru, TDP district health wing president Dr R Sudharani also spoke. Officials, students and civic body staff were present.
