Tirupati: The annual Navahnika Brahmotsavams of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple here came to a grand end on Thursday with the holy event of Chakrasanam. To appease the Lord, the annual fete in all Sri Vaishnava temples will conclude with Chakrasnanam. The processional deities of Lord Govindaraja Swamy and his two consorts along with Chakrattalwar were taken in a procession to Kapilatheertham.

On the banks of Kapilatheertham tank (Pushkrini) priests first performed Snapana Thirumanjanam to the deities amidst chanting of Vedic hymns. Later, priests immersed Chakrathalwar in the holy temple tank waters in the auspicious muhurat marking the grand conclusion of the nine-day event.

As the temple tank of Govindaraja Swamy dried up, the TTD authorities decided to perform Chakrasnanam, the event to be observed on the last of the Brahmotsavam of the temple in Kapilatheertham tank, three km away from the temple.
