The duo that represented the state for Basketball
Ramishetti Swetha and Vaaka Satvika from the small town of Nuzvid in Krishna district, excelled in National Basketball Championship which was held at Noida in Uttar Pradesh recently. The two players represented Andhra Pradesh women team at the National Basketball tournament and performed well.

AP team qualified till quarter-final match and lost the match. The two players have played a key-role in winning the matches. Krishna district team won bronze medal in Inter district Basketball tournament which was held at Visakhapatnam and the duo was selected for the Andhra Pradesh team.
Previously, Swetha and Sativka have represented Andhra Pradesh Basketball team in Sub-junior nationals and School Games Federation of India (SGF) teams and performed well. Swetha and Satvika are being coached at the Victoria Town Hall (VTH) in Nuzvid, Krishna district, where Physical Education Teacher (PET) V Nagarju is their coach.
The two are not just good in sports, but also in education. Swetha got 10 GPA in 10th class and joined intermediate at Sarada College in Nuzvid. Vaaka Satvika is now studying in tenth at Trivida school in the town, said coach Nagaraju. In this connection Victoria Town Hall management and locals praised these girl players for participating in national basketball tournament.
