CPI alleges neglect of Seema, north Andhra by TDP government
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna said on Sunday another new agitation would be launched like Telangana agitation in the state if the state government limited its focus on developmental activities to Amaravati region alone ignoring other parts of the state like Rayalaseema and north Andhra.

Ramakrishna demanded that the state government concentrate on the development of the backward districts also.
Speaking to reporters at party office Dasari Bhavan here on Sunday, Ramakrishna said, "In the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, ruling parties concentrated the on the development of Hyderabad only which finally led to Telangana agitation resulting in division of state.
Taking lessons from it, the TDP government should concentrate on overall development of the state including cities and towns in different parts of the state apart from Amaravati.” He warned that another agitation would be inevitable if the state government neglected the development of other areas in the state.
He alleged that Rayalaseema districts of Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittoor and Kurnool and three north coastal districts Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam were being neglected by the ruling TDP and demanded that these backward districts be developed on par with Amaravati.
Referring to land pooling scheme for Amaravati, the CPI leader said the state government had pooled about 34, 000 acre for constructing capital but only temporary Secretariat and Assembly had been constructed so far. He criticised the government for seeking permission from the Centre to take over another 31,000 acre forest lands for constructing the capital and 14, 000 acre for ring road.
Ramakrishna made it clear that the CPI would oppose the next phase lad pooling and organise agitations against. He announced that three-day agitations would be organised from July 24 to 26 in all 13 districts demanding implementation of MS Swaminathan commission recommendations on minimum support price for crops and crop insurance and waiver of crop loans in drought-hit mandals.
