Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the district officials to prepare a plan for transforming Nandyal into a smart city. He directed Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh to take the task of preparing a plan. Kurnool: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the district officials to prepare a plan for transforming Nandyal into a smart city. He directed Joint Collector Prasanna Venkatesh to take the task of preparing a plan. The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the officials of the various departments at Roads and Buildings (R&B) guest house in Nandyal on Thursday.

Addressing the officials, Chandrababu asked them to expedite the works pertaining to roads widening, laying footpaths and construction of drainages on war foot basis. He instructed the Superintendent Engineer (Irrigation) to take up desilting of Shyama Canal without any further delay or else there is every chance of flooding at Nandyal this rainy season. He also ordered the National Highways Project Director to complete the bypass road works by giving top priority.

“Municipal Commissioner should ensure fiber internet connection is given to every household in Nandyal city,” the CM said. Responding to the orders of the Chief Minister, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Superintendent Engineer Srinivasa Reddy brought to the notice of Chandrababu that Rs 60 crore is needed for laying 4.8 km four-lane road that falls under the R&B department.

Panchayati Raj Superintendent Engineer Subba Rayudu informed the Chief Minister that 45 km of Cement Concrete (CC) roads should be laid.Director of Municipal Corporation Kanna Babu told the Chief Minister that Rs 75 crore is needed for road widening and providing other amenities in Nandyal. Municipal Minister Narayana, Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, District Collector S Satyanarayana and other officials were present.
