Godavari Urban Development Authority chief moots construction of stadium
Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) chairman Ganni Krishna said that the authority will consider constructing a stadium in Rajamahendravaram, a long standing issue in the city, by brining the issue to notice of the Chief Minister with the support of public representatives.

Speaking after flagging off the Olympic Day Run at Sri Venkateswara Anam Kala Kendram on Friday, Krishna said that Rajamahendravaram has produced many national and international sportspersons; however it does not have a stadium of its own. He said that there were many outstanding and enthusiastic players who were practising in different playgrounds in the city.
He said that he would take the suggestions of Ministers, MLAs and others in this regard. The chairman said that the state government was giving priority to sports, along with education, and is ready to release funds for sports. Sports personalities Sunkara Nagendra Kishore, Kasi Naveen Kumar and several physical trainers participated, along with hundreds of students in Olympic Day Run.
