He demanded compensation to be paid for fishing loss due to offshore operations.Speaking to The Hans India at his camp office, here on Monday, the MP said that ONGC, Reliance, GSPC, GAIL, Oil India Limited and Cairn Energy have been operating in these parts and producing hydrocarbons on large scale. “By taking up industrial activity,

the produced gas can be utilised for local needs in Konaseema area,” he opined. Ravindra Babu wanted GSPC to pay compensation to fisher folk.“Oil companies should dig fish ponds (fish breeding units) onshore to the extent of 100 to 200 acre as compensation and handover them to fishermen societies.
