Gafoor begins hunger strike
CITU state general secretary MA Gafoor launched hunger strike at Dharna chowk here on Thursday demanding that the state government resolve the problems being faced by the contract and outsourcing workers in the state.
Vijayawada: CITU state general secretary MA Gafoor launched hunger strike at Dharna chowk here on Thursday demanding that the state government resolve the problems being faced by the contract and outsourcing workers in the state.
Progressive Democratic Front (PDF) MLC Boddu Nageswara Rao inaugurated the hunger strike camp and alleged that the state government is neglecting the several issues relating to people.
Speaking on the occasion, Boddu Nageswara Rao said the state government has been exploiting the hard work of contract and outsourcing workers and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu never tried to resolve their problems.
The state government is avoiding the several problems though trade union leaders took them to notice of the government, he alleged.
Contract employees’ regularisation demand was put thrown on back burner, he reminded. “CITU general secretary MA Gafoor said the Maha Dharna will be held at all the district Collectorates on July 3.
CPM state secretariat member Ch Babu Rao, Krishna district secretariat member Donepudi Kasinadh, CITU vice-president K Swaroopa Rani, APNGO Association leader A Vidyasagar and others participated.
