V Srinivasa Rao, coordinator, All India Dalit Shoshan Mukti Manch (DSMM) and CPM politburo member, demanded that the government pay compensation to the Dalit families, who were socially boycotted by upper caste people in Garagaparru village of Palakoderu mandal, and provide employment to them.

He visited Garagaparru village on Thursday and offered lemon juice to the leaders who were on hunger strike demanding the arrests of the accused.
Leaders G Ramakrishna, district secretary of Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti (KVPS), PV Rao, president, Mala Mahanadu, were on hunger strike at the village for the past three days. As the police arrested the accused, the DSMM coordinator asked the leaders to withdraw the hunger strike.
Later addressing the media at Bhimavaram, the DSMM coordinator Srinivasa Rao said that those who suffered the social boycott should get social justice. He demanded distribution of the barren and surplus lands to the victims of the social boycott case.
He also demanded the Collector take steps to install Ambedkar statue at panchayat office as requested by the Dalits and asked him to give his consent in writing.
He also demanded take up development activities like cement roads, drains besides sanctioning the pensions and other welfare schemes at Dalit Colonies.
He assured the Dalits that the DSMM and KVPS will support their cause. Former MLA and KVPS President Digupati Rajagopal and state leader Kranti Kumar were present at the press conference.
