  • Works begian for laying a 6-km long road from Sangameswaram to tribal hamlets
  • Chenchus have been isolated for 30 years without transportation facility

Works have already begun. It is learnt that the works will be completed within six months. The highway would help the tribals, who have been isolated for thirty years for want of transportation facility to overcome their hardships and challenges.

They would be safe from boat accidents. With the completion of the highway, power supply, ration and other facilities will reach the Chenchu hamlets. Starvation deaths and wild animal attacks would come to halt. There are several instances of maternal deaths caused due to lack of timely medical treatment.

The tribes can now reach 30 km away Kothapalli Primary Health Centre and Atmakur Cluster Hospital which is 60 km away in less time. Tribals from Yerramattam, Munali, Madugu, Madugula, Palemcheruvu, Chedarampenta, Bairluti and Naguluti hamlets could now visit their relatives with ease.
