District Collector Pravin Kumar refuted allegations of irregularities in payment of compensation paid to the farmers, who had given their land for Med-Tech Park, a special economic zone, which is coming up for manufacturing of medical equipment.

He was reacting to the allegations levelled by Roads and Buildings Minister Ch Ayyanna Patrudu who told SIT on Friday that benamis have claimed compensation.

The Collector said there were no irregularities and land acquisition and compensation was paid in a transparent manner. A list of displaced was prepared with the approval of gram sabhas and in the presence of the villagers, he added.

The allegations of irregularities had slurred the brand image of the Park, the Collector said.He appealed to people not to trust baseless allegations and approach him if they have any doubts or evidence to prove.
