Visakhapatnam: Due to heavy rains and flash floods in Rayagada district of Odisha, the railway bridge between Singapuram Road and Therubali railway stations in Titilagarh-Rayagada railway section was washed away on Sunday.
The alert gangman stopped the approaching goods train which was supposed to pass on the bridge and averted a major accident. As a result, several train services were affected. While some of them were cancelled, others were diverted.
TRAINS CONTROLLED ENROUTE: The trains that were controlled are Jagadalpur-Howrah Samaleswari Express(No 18006), Visakhapatnam-LTT express (22847), Nanded-Sambhalpur Express (12756), Vijayawada-Rayagada passenger (57271), Nizamuddin-Visakhapatnam Samatha Express (12808), Sambhalpur-Rayagada express (18301), Sambhalpur-Nanded express (12755) and the Raipur-Visakhapatnam passenger (58527) were controlled en-route and later diverted and short terminated.
TRAINS CANCELLED: Durg-Jagadalpur Passenger (18211)leaving Durg on July 16, Jagadalpur-Durg express (No 18212)scheduled to leave Jagadalpur on July 17, the Durg-Jagadalpur Express (18211) train cancelled from July 18 and train Jagadalpur-Durg Express (18212) were cancelled from July 19 till further orders.
Sambhalpur-Nanded Express (18212) leaving Sambhalpur on July 16, Nanded-Sambhalpur Express (12756) leaving Nanded on July 17, Sambhalpur-Rayagada-Sambhalpur Intercity Express (No 18301/18302 ) were cancelled from July 17 till further orders.
Similarly, the Rourkela-Koraput-Rourkela Express trains (No 18107/18108) were cancelled from July 16, Bilaspur-Tirupati Express (17481) leaving Bilaspur on July 18 and Tirupati-Bilaspur Express (17482) leaving Tirupati on July 20 have been cancelled.
Raipur-Visakhapatnam-Raipur passenger trains (58527/58528) were cancelled from July 16, train 58529/58530 Durg-Visakhapatnam-Durg passenger trains cancelled from July 16 and the Sambalpur-Koraput-Sambalpur (58301/58302) passengers were cancelled from July 17, till further orders.
