More rains forecast in Telugu states

The system is presently centered at 19°N and 86°E, over South Coastal Odisha and North Andhra Pradesh. According to weathermen, depression is most likely to move in westerly direction, due to which situation remains conducive for more heavy showers in many places, including Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Hyderabad. The weathermen have issued heavy rain warning for north coastal Andhra districts.
The IMD officials said that more rainfall was expected in the next 24 hours Further, the trough on Sea Level Chart now runs from Odisha to south Tamil Nadu prevails over the coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Under its influence, all districts of coastal AP may receive heavy rain, while Rayalaseema may get light to moderate rains in the next 72 hours,” said YK Reddy, director in-charge of IMD, Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the Cyclone Warning Centre, Vizag, said that strong surface winds from westerly direction reaching a speed up to 55 kmph is likely to blow along and off coastal AP.
Warning that the sea conditions may remain very rough, it advised fishermen to be cautious while venturing into the sea. In the last 24 hours, coastal AP recorded isolated heavy rain at many places. Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district recorded 5 cm rain, the highest in the state.
At present, Hyderabad has been witnessing light rains. Intense thunderclouds were hovering over the city since early Tuesday morning with light rains. The system has been infusing moisture over Telangana, leading to some heavy rains over Hyderabad and nearby areas. Heavy rains and thundershowers to continue for the next 24 to 48 hours over Hyderabad.
